Meet Eric Solveson.

Eric is the founder and owner of Solveson Builders, a licensed and insured general contractor based in Grand Junction, Colorado. He brings more than 30 years of combined experience across building and real estate to the way he plans, designs and builds.
Since founding Solveson Builders in 2020, Eric has focused on craftsmanship, careful planning and spaces that reflect the people who use them—from custom homes and substantial remodels to cabinetry and outdoor living.
From Iowa to Western Colorado
A family connection to building. A career shaped by doing.
Born and raised in Iowa, Eric grew up around construction, real estate and the work it takes to care for a property. His family’s involvement in construction reaches back to the 1950s. His grandfather founded Solveson Crane Rental, and his uncle’s work with Hammercraft Construction continued the family’s building tradition.
With his father’s rental properties in the Quad Cities and his mother’s work as a realtor, Eric gained early hands-on experience with property repairs and upkeep. He learned to look at buildings through both the work they require and the value they provide to the people who use them.
That foundation led to work with Davidson Construction in Boulder, Colorado, where he helped build custom homes. He later served as lead tenant coordinator with Rothschild & Downes on Denver’s 16th Street Mall and other projects. Those experiences brought together residential craftsmanship, commercial coordination and the practical work of moving a project forward.
Today, Eric calls Grand Junction home and brings that background to Solveson Builders’ work throughout the Grand Valley and Western Colorado.
A design point of view
Usonian Inspired.
Scandinavian by Blood.
Eric’s Scandinavian heritage and his study of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian work shape a design approach rooted in natural materials, thoughtful proportions and everyday function. His designs usually draw on those influences while responding to the homeowner, the property and the planned investment.
Horizontal lines, simple roof forms, warm wood and Douglas fir, integrated cabinetry and a close connection to the outdoors are recurring interests. Central hearths, built-in furniture and comfortable gathering spaces reflect his interest in homes that bring people together.
Eric connects that vision to the details: site conditions, floor plans, 3D studies, material selections, storage, custom woodwork and the construction methods needed to bring a design into focus.

Eric has spent years working with architects and engineers. At Solveson Builders, he leads the design conversation and brings practical construction knowledge to the layout, materials, budget and project scope.
We work with architects and engineers to develop the architectural documentation and structural solutions a project needs. Eric’s role is to keep the homeowner’s priorities, the design direction and the work required to build it connected.
Required architectural and engineering services are provided by appropriately licensed professionals, with their scope, fees and deliverables identified for the project.

Eric’s background also includes work as a river guide, ski instructor and entrepreneur. Working with people has been a consistent part of his career, and the relationships matter to him as much as the finished work.
He values understanding what matters to a client, being straightforward about the work and following through on commitments. His approach starts with questions: how you want to live, what you want to change, which details matter and what the property will allow.
That means discussing design choices, construction constraints, materials, timing and investment before decisions become work on site.
